Preschool has been exploring fine motor skills and exploring lots of different ways to strengthen our finger muscles to help us become better writers! We have used Play-Doh, spaghetti and Cheerios, tape, wooden beads and pipe cleaners as well as nuts and bolts! These activities seem little but provide huge impacts on those fine motor skills.

We have very exciting news to share with you! Skyline R-II School has been approved to provide FREE breakfasts and lunches for ALL students! We are able to provide this through a DESE program called Provision 2.
A couple of things we wanted to mention:
* Under Provision 2 guidelines, we still had to collect and submit free and reduced lunch applications. If you have not yet turned yours in, please do so.
*A few of you have already paid for student meals, we have not deposited any of these payments. The office will reach out to you to see if you want to come pick up your payment, or have it sent home with your child.
We are so pleased to be able to offer free meals to all of our students! For any questions, please call the office at 417-683-4874.

Flowers will not be available for pick up until after Sept 6th.
Flowers cannot be sent home with students on the bus.

Permission slips for middle school basketball will be sent home with 6th - 8th grade students today. If your student is interested in playing, a sports physical will need to be completed and returned to the school no later than Friday, September 5.

Our first day of school is tomorrow, August 19, and we can't wait to see everyone! A few reminders:
Breakfast is served at 7:30 am, and school starts at 7:50 am.
School is dismissed at 3:35 pm, and buses leave the parking lot at 3:40 pm.

It was great to see our students and their families at last night's Open House. Everyone who came received paperwork to be filled out for the new school year. If you were not at Open House, this paperwork will be sent home with your student on the first day of school. Those who have the paperwork turned in to the school by Friday, August 22, will be entered in a drawing for some fun prizes!

Open House is tomorrow night from 5-7 pm. This event lets students meet their teachers and see their classroom. Our bus drivers will also be there for any questions about bus routes. We will be serving hot dogs and chips. We are looking forward to seeing our students and parents!

We had a great time at our Back to School Bash! Our students got to gather their school supplies, and then enjoy a foam party. We would like to give a big thanks to everyone who made this event possible, a lot of work went into it. We would also like to thank those who generously donated so that school supplies could be provided for our students.
