We also had special readers during snack. Bailey Pete read to us while we ate snack. We used this to practice good audience manners for the movie field trip on Friday.

Our junior paleontologists dug for fossils! Using chocolate chip cookies as our example we used toothpicks for tools to extract our chocolate chip fossils.

Skyline summer school students will be going to the movie theater in West Plains this Friday, May 23. Each student will receive a free popcorn and drink. They will need to bring their own money if they would like to buy extra concessions. The movie begins at 10 am. After the movie, we will be eating lunch at the park/splash pad area in West Plains around noon. If your child would like to play in the splash pad, please send them with a towel and extra clothes.

A permission slip will go home with students today regarding our field trip on the last day of summer school, May 29. We will be going to the Grand Country Water Park in Branson. Please fill out and return this permission slip as soon as possible. Good attendance is required in order to attend. This will be a great trip, we want all of our summer school students to be able to participate!

Our 3rd-5th grade summer school classes enjoyed getting cooled off by the truck from the Skyline Area Volunteer Fire Department on Friday.

EGGcellent time!! Today the lower and upper grades designed egg holders to be dropped off the fire truck! The kids loved it! Congratulations to the winning team, Myson, Jax and Tucker! Everyone enjoyed getting cooled off by the firetruck!

Thursday Fun Day!!
Phases of Matter Experiment-Root Beer Floats!! The kids loved identifying solids, liquids and the gas.

A permission slip, along with a waiver for the pool in Ozark, was sent home with students on Wednesday. If you need another copy of the permission slip or waiver, please contact the school at 417-683-4874.

Students on Ms. McKay's bus route got to enjoy a sweet treat at Betty's store at Champion.

Mrs. Jess along with the K, 1 and 2 classes learned about the 3 phases of matter and concluded today's lesson with the Dancing Raisin experiment. The raisins danced very little and it was decided the raisins were either too sticky or we didn't have enough gas bubbles. Tomorrow's experiment will be even better!!

Summer school is off to a great start. Mrs. Mayberry's students made elephant toothpaste today.
