Below is a message from one of our outstanding teachers:
My name is Carolyn Willhite. This is my 20th year with the district as a classroom teacher, and I am the new Parent Educator in our district this year for Parents as Teachers (PAT). I wanted to reach out and let you know the program is available in our district if you are interested. Right now the program will be working with children birth to 3 years on child development, school readiness, and supporting parent concerns. I am hoping to add 3 to 5 year olds in December, so you can still contact me if your child falls in this age range. I will get them on the list. This can be in home visits or visits at the school. If you would like to know more or are interested please let me know. You can email me at cwillhite@skyliner2.net or call and leave a message with your contact information at 417-683-4874.

The annual Krispy Kreme fundraiser starts TONIGHT! Due to a change in how everything is set up, we will only be able to sell until THIS Friday, September 27th. To help with meeting our goal, chocolate glazed AND coffee has been added, along with the original donuts, BOGO's and certificates. The class with students selling the most will earn a free dozen of their choice (students must participate). The staff member who sells the most will earn a free bag of coffee AND a dozen donuts!!
Skyline community, please help make this fundraising blitz the best yet!

From Mrs. Goss in Kindergarten:
We read "Ten Apples Up On Top" by Dr. Seuss. We practiced counting apples to 10. Then each student got 10 apples. They spent a bit of time using just apples to try and build a 10 apple tower. After working at that for a bit they were able to use things in the classroom to assist them to build a 10 apple tower. We started with little apples, and then moved to full size apples.

Kindergarten has been learning about different ways to make 5. Students worked in groups with colored counters taking turns with each other making 5. They then recorded their work with the colors of their counters recording the different ways to make 5. Playing a "game" while learning a skill.

REMINDER: School pictures and sports pictures will be taken on Tuesday, September 24. If you have not already turned in your picture forms and payment, please do so on Tuesday the 24th.
