More pictures from yesterday's field trip.

Our summer school students had a great time at the pool in Ozark yesterday.

We are having a fun with food building project tomorrow (May 16) at summer school and we are needing some extra supplies! If you have any of these items and would like to donate them to our project we would greatly appreciate it! You can send them to school tomorrow with your child. If you do not have a child attending summer school but would still like to donate items, please bring by the school before noon on Friday the 16th. This is a list of dry items we are needing:
Uncooked pasta
Oatmeal
Marshmallow
Coconut
Dry Beans
Cereal
Crackers
Pretzels
Rice
Tortilla shells
Bread
Chocolate chips
Cookies
Anything else that would be fun to build with! Check back in tomorrow afternoon to see what the students have created!
All hands on deck today! 3rd-8th grade worked the soil for our outdoor classrooms. Speaking of all hands on deck, Mr. Luna assisted Mrs. Rhonda in the kitchen today.

REMINDER: Field trip to the Ozark pool is on Wednesday, May 14. Please send your child with a swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, and footwear suitable for the pool. Concessions will be available if you would like to send money with your child. The permission slip and waiver must be turned in for your child to attend. We plan to arrive in Ozark at 11:00-11:15 and eat lunch in the park, then go to the pool around 11:45.

Our 3rd-5th grade summer school classes enjoyed getting cooled off by the truck from the Skyline Area Volunteer Fire Department on Friday.

Summer school is having an
EGGcellent time!! Today the lower and upper grades designed egg holders to be dropped off the fire truck! The kids loved it! Congratulations to the winning team, Myson, Jax and Tucker! Everyone enjoyed getting cooled off by the firetruck!

Thursday Fun Day!!
Phases of Matter Experiment-Root Beer Floats!! The kids loved identifying solids, liquids and the gas.

A permission slip, along with a waiver for the pool in Ozark, was sent home with students on Wednesday. If you need another copy of the permission slip or waiver, please contact the school at 417-683-4874.

Students on Ms. McKay's bus route got to enjoy a sweet treat at Betty's store at Champion.

Mrs. Jess along with the K, 1 and 2 classes learned about the 3 phases of matter and concluded today's lesson with the Dancing Raisin experiment. The raisins danced very little and it was decided the raisins were either too sticky or we didn't have enough gas bubbles. Tomorrow's experiment will be even better!!

Summer school is off to a great start. Mrs. Mayberry's students made elephant toothpaste today.

Reminder: Summer School begins this Wednesday, May 7! We are participating in the Seamless Summer food program. This allows ALL summer school students to receive a free breakfast and lunch. Also, anyone age 18 or younger can come and get a free breakfast and lunch. You do not have to be a student. Breakfast is served from 7:30-7:50 am, and lunch is from 11:00-11:20 am.

Thank you to Cox Electrical for providing free drinks to our staff from MK Coffee Company. It was much appreciated!
Skyline PTO recently provided eggs for an Easter egg hunt for our younger students, and provided treat bags for our older students.

Thank you to everyone that attended our kindergarten and eighth grade graduation ceremonies last night. We would also like to thank the staff members that worked so hard to create such a special evening for our students and their loved ones.

This has been staff appreciation week at Skyline School. Our teachers/special education coordinator/aides work hard every day to not only educate their students, but to make each one feel valued. Our superintendent always makes time to balance administrative duties with listening to students and staff. Our counselor is an important resource for our students. Our librarian is generous with her time that she gives to our students. Our office staff keeps things running smoothly. Our cook staff provides tasty meals for everyone, including the student favorite, biscuits and gravy. Our maintenance/custodial staff are always working to keep our school safe and clean. Our bus drivers have the tremendous task of safely getting out students to and from school. We truly have a fantastic group of people at our school!

The Skyline School year end assembly will be tomorrow at 2:00 pm. Our 1st-8th grade students will be receiving awards for scholastic achievements and perfect attendance. We hope to see you there!

Skyline graduation is tonight, May 1. Kindergarten graduation is at 6 pm, and eighth grade graduation is at 6:45 pm. Please come help us celebrate our graduates!

Today's outdoor Field Day is cancelled due to standing water on our field area. Coach Gray will be doing a modified indoor Field Day with students during their PE time. If you have any questions, please call the school at 417-683-4874.
