Yesterday was the last day of our Summer Learning Academy. We hope everyone has a great summer!

Tie-dyeing!

Mrs. Rebecca from the Missouri Extension office shared information through the 4H program on insects with the 4-5th grade students.

In the 1st week of our Summer Learning Academy, 4-5th graders created bluebird houses using measurement and hands on learning.

The second/third grades have been learning about weathering, erosion, rivers, and mudslides this week. Here they are investigating the power of water to move sand, gravel, and rocks. And just playing in the water a bit, too 🙂

Our preschool section is having fun at our Summer Learning Academy!

Tomorrow, May 14, we will be tie-dying shirts with our Summer Learning Academy students. The shirts that will be tie-dyed are provided by the school. Please send your students to school in clothes (and shoes!) that you won't mind if they accidentally get stained. We will wash and dry the shirts this weekend so they are ready to take home on Monday!

May 6th is School Nurse Appreciation Day, and we are so fortunate to have Karen!

Last week, bus #4 enjoyed ice cream with Miss Betty at Henson's Store in Champion.

Today our staff enjoyed charcuterie boards and cupcakes from Gentry Davault. Everything was great!

Earlier this week our staff enjoyed some sweet treats from Jaci's Cozy Crumbs. Thank you, Jaci!

Today is National School Lunch Hero Day, and we definitely have a couple of super heroes! They do so much more than planning and preparing meals. They care about our students, encourage them to try new foods, and keep track of student dietary restrictions. They make our school cafeteria a fun and cheerful place!

We have a very special group of teachers at Skyline!

Thank you to Stockmens Bank for providing and delivering our staff appreciation lunch. We all enjoyed our meal from Backroads BBQ.

3rd-5th grade had an exciting field trip hosted by Chemistry Professor Gary Mients at the Missouri State Campus in Springfield, MO. Demonstrations and hands on activities were an anchor to this Science geared field trip!

The kindergarten graduation will begin at 6 pm, with 8th grade graduation following.

The middle school enjoyed a fast paced/short lived field trip to Wilson Creek National Battlefield today. Before the storms rushed them away, the students were able to tour the Ray House as well as learn about the horrific medical practices on the battlefield. Many students and Mrs. Jess were used as examples.
The students then enjoyed a lunch inside Bass Pro as well as some exploring time.
